First Aid & CPR/AED
Heartsaver® courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who need a course completion card for job, regulatory (for example, OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.
Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS)
The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascul ar Care (ECC).
BLS Instructor
The course educates instructor candidates on how to adequately use AHA Instructor teaching materials and follow AHA Instructor and course policies. Upon completion of the course, Instructors can teach the BLS Provider Course, the HeartCode BLS Hands-On Session, and any course within the Heartsaver portfolio. The BLS Instructor Essentials Course is taught in a blended learning format. AHA BLS Instructor candidates must complete the online portion, followed by the hands-on session conducted by BLS Training Center Faculty. Prior to taking this course, candidates must have a current BLS Provider course completion card.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
The ACLS course teaches the importance of preventing cardiac arrest, high-performance teams, early and continuous high-quality CPR, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, post-cardiac arrest care, acute dysrhythmias, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
The American Heart Association’s PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. This classroom, Instructor-led course uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes
American Red Cross
First Aid & CPR/AED
This Red Cross course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims of all ages.
Basic Life Support and CPR/AED for Professionals
The 2019 Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, child and infant patients. Consistent with the 2021 AHA Guidelines for CPR/ECC, BLS is the foundational CPR/AED program typically required for healthcare providers and public safety professionals. Through the use of lecture, skills demonstration, practice and case-based emergency response scenarios with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes.
Advanced Life Support/Pediatric Life Support
Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) training from the Red Cross builds on your BLS skills to help you deliver a greater level of care. Featuring science-based curriculum and personalized instruction, ALS/PALS uses a scenario-based approach and focuses on medically complex cased requiring advanced interventions. Class formats: In-person and Blended Learning. Must have a current BLS certification to take this course.
First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED courses. In order to participate in this course, you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration, it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blended learning course consisting of online content, a pre-course skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. Challenges
Skip the classroom and challenge your Basic Life Support or First Aid/CPR/AED by demonstrating the hands-on skills and passing the written exam. The purpose of the challenge course is to give individuals the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge and skill competency outside a formal class setting. Preparing for the testing scenario and final exam is the responsibility of the participant.

This first aid, AED, and CPR certification course option is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting and conforms to the 2021 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC, and the 2021 AHA and ARC Guidelines Update for First Aid. Classes can be taught as standalone courses First Aid,CPR/AED for the Community (Adult, Child or Infant)
